Parental Illness…

Our time in Gainesville got significantly more...interesting...in recent days.

A few days ago, Andrew started throwing up suddenly and violently for almost 3 straight hours. It got so bad he couldn't function, and we called 911. He was seen in the ER and then admitted to the hospital. After four bags (!) of fluids, other meds, and a bunch of tests, we discovered he has a very severe case of Norovirus, which Chantelle also caught (thankfully without the horrible vomiting). Andrew discharged himself after quite the interesting second half of his hospital stay (maybe one day we will have time to share that).

So, while baby Benji continues to recover in his own hospital room, we have been quarantined in our respite room for the last 48 hours, trying to rest and regain our strength for the home stretch of this stay.

Thankfully our family has been amazing, making sure to visit Benji since we can't, and also taking care of Edmund James for us. They've been lifesavers.

Benji continues to feed well and make good progress. He has been ahead of the process every step of the way. Our biggest concern right now is that he doesn't catch the norovirus, which is highly contagious and would be a significant risk with his heart condition. There are also the expenses of the ambulance ride and ER visit that add financial burden.

Please pray for Benji's continued progress and health, for financial provision, and for our own recovery!

Persevering, albeit tiredly
