Discharged, Again

Last week, we discovered Benji had a common, but still significant, surgical complication. It required a swift return to Gainesville and Shands Children's Hospital. We arrived at 10pm the same night and promptly took Benji to the Pediatric ER. He was given the VIP treatment in the ER and was admitted upstairs to the care of the PCICU by 4am. The team at Shands did their thing, got him scheduled for the operation he needed despite staff shortages over the long weekend, managed the situation, and worked with us through some challenges with diet changes and formula supply. Seven days later, and our fifth hospitalization in six months is over! Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Life with a medically needy kiddo is unpredictable and often requires quick decisions and changes on the fly. Hopefully, we can keep him home for a while now.
