Experiencing Death

When I was a child, summer was the season where the sunshine was plentiful, and the possibilities were endless. While the way I spend my summers has changed, the sun has not. It is still shining and radiating heat. There have been times, especially recently, when the sun felt too hot or too bright. Consider with me our Heavenly Father. Like the sun, He remains unchanged, and His work in me, a process called sanctification, can feel too hot or too bright. As I've worked through Experiencing God; and prepared to become a Biblical Counselor, the Lord has shone His bright light on me, exposing areas that need refined, allowing the Holy Spirit to use refiner's fire to help me grow. I can't say I like this process. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Sometimes it is downright painful. But no one ever said death by fire was a pleasant experience.
