Some Difficult News

We have some very difficult news to share.

This past week, we discovered that our unborn son, Benjamin Thomas, has a rare, severe, and life-threatening heart defect. He could pass away before birth. If he makes it to term and is born safely, he will need three major heart surgeries before he is 3 years old. The first two would take place in the first 6 months of his life. All are incredibly risky and often fatal. If he survives, he could need other surgeries throughout childhood, and before he is 20 years old he would need a heart transplant.

We are overwhelmed, and we have posted this publicly specifically to ask for prayer. Please refrain from offering advice. The best thing you can do for us is pray for and with us. We are praying for healing, wisdom, provision, practical help, and grace as we face these unknowns.
